Mercari refused paying me for damaged item . I sold a set of two glass faceted lotus candle Holders I wrapped and boxed very well. The buyer said they were damaged Mercari says for Her to return to me because the item was not wrapped properly and that it was minimal damage today I got the return and they are smashed and the box looked like it ...If you have pics of how you packed it, send it to mercari. They might change their minds. But i think the reason why they denied it is bc they usually recommend that you ship these types of items in 2 boxes. Like once its packed securely in a box, wrap it in air cushions or packing peanuts and put it in another box.I shop on Mercari. Have had good and bad experiences, just like eBay and Etsy, but mostly good though. Mercari just updated it's fee policy. Sellers no longer have to pay a fee to list items. Buyers now have to pay a "processing fee" and a "payment fee", so revenue that Mercari got from the seller listing fee is now being taken from buyers!

As someone that's always worked in customer service, aside from Etsy, I highly recommend replacing the item. Items getting damaged during shipping happens all the time.
